My first fully loaded press trip was to the Chinese coastal city of Shenzen, just outside Hong Kong, to give onsite coverage of an international arts festival. I spoke with dozens of local artists and event organizers, learning the vast and often dizzying nuances of the Chinese music & entertainment industries. These tenacious and true individuals afforded me the opportunity to tell their stories.
